User Testing: Generation NYC

[February 28, 2018] Generation NYC, a first-of-its-kind digital platform for New Yorkers ages 13–24. This groundbreaking “mobile first” website — accessible by phone, tablet, or computer — was designed to help young New Yorkers of all backgrounds and identities navigate the sometimes challenging waters of adolescence and young adulthood by offering tailored resources and opportunities.

Description

During summer 2017, in anticipation for the launch of Generation NYC, we conducted two rounds of user testing with LGBTQ teens .

Role:

  • Wrote protocol

  • facilitated research

  • supported with taking notes, debriefing, etc.

  • Synthesized findings in Google Sheets and JIRA

objective:

  • Test the website (usability, functionality, and bugs)

  • Test Content (tone, scope, relevance, and usefulness)

  • Test overall appeal

  • identify missing resources or requested features for future product development
